making its world debut at this Sneak Preview (while supplies last). Remember
that this card is usable in your Deck at the event.
Tactical
Evolution introduces the new Gemini monsters,
identified by
[ / Gemini] next to a monster’s Type. Like Spirit or Toon monsters,
Gemini monsters are orange, and are Effect Monster cards.
Gemini monsters all share the following
text “This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field or in
the Graveyard. While this card is face-up on the field, you can Normal Summon
it to have it be treated as an Effect Monster with this effect:” This means
that while face-up on the field or in the Graveyard, they are considered to be
Normal Monsters for any card’s effect that references Normal Monsters or Effect
Monsters.
When you have a Gemini monster already
face-up on the field, you may use your Normal Summon to turn on the effect of
the Gemini monster, making it an Effect Monster on the field. This is treated
the same as any other Normal Summon, so cards that may be activated in response
to a Normal Summon may be activated now, such as “Torrential Tribute” or the
effect of “Mysterious Puppeteer”.
If the Gemini monster you have on the field
is Level 5 or higher, you do NOT need to Tribute monsters again for this Normal
Summon.
You can use your standard, once-per-turn,
Normal Summon or a Normal Summon granted by a card’s effect, such as “Ultimate
Offering”.
When you Normal Summon a Gemini monster
that you already have on the field, if it now has an Ignition Effect you can
activate it at that time, just like other monsters that have Ignition Effects
(“Exiled Force”, etc.)
Also note that when a card’s effect refers
to Gemini monsters (without quotes), it does NOT mean cards with “Gemini” in
the card name, such as “Gemini Elf” or “Gemini Summoner”.
The contents of this document are structured as follows:
Card Name
Card Number (Card Type)
[Card Text]
Rulings
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rainbow Dragon
TAEV-EN006 (Effect Monster)
[This card cannot be Normal Summoned or
Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned, except from your hand while you have
7 "Crystal Beast" cards with different names on the field or in your
Graveyard. This card cannot activate its effects the turn it is Special
Summoned. ●Send all "Crystal Beast"
monsters you control to the Graveyard; this card gains 1000 ATK for each card
sent. You can activate this effect during either player's turn. ●You can remove from play all "Crystal Beast" Monster Cards
in your Graveyard to return all cards on the field to their owners' Decks.]
You can activate this card’s effect first
bulleted effect during the Damage Step.
The ATK increase is applied as long as
“Rainbow Dragon” remains face-up on the field.
Necro Gardna
TAEV-EN012 (Effect Monster)
[Remove from play this card in your
Graveyard to negate 1 attack from a monster your opponent controls.]
This card’s effect can be activated at any
time during the Battle Step, including when an attack is declared, but not in
the Damage Step.
Vennominaga the Deity of Poisonous Snakes
TAEV-EN013 (Effect Monster)
[This card cannot be Normal Summoned or
Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except with its own effect or with
"Rise of the Snake Deity". This card gains 500 ATK for each
Reptile-Type monster in your Graveyard. This card cannot be targeted and is
unaffected by the effects of other Monsters, Spells, and Traps. When this card
is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, you can remove from play 1
other Reptile-Type monster from your Graveyard to Special Summon this card.
When this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent, place 1 Hyper-Venom Counter
on it. When 3 Hyper-Venom Counters are on this card, you win the Duel.]
Removing from play 1 Reptile-Type monster
in your Graveyard to Special Summon this card is a cost.
This card’s effect to place 1 Hyper-Venom
Counter on itself starts a chain when it inflicts Battle Damage to your
opponent.
When 3 Hyper-Venom Counters are placed on
this card, its controller wins the Duel as part of the resolution of the
effect.
This card is not affected by the effects of
any other Monsters, Spells or Traps, even effects that do not target.
Please note the spelling of this card’s
name. It is not a “Venom” monster.
Vennominon the King of Poisonous Snakes
TAEV-EN014 (Effect Monster)
[This card cannot be Special Summoned by
another Effect Monster's effect. This card is unaffected by "Venom Swamp".
This card gains 500 ATK for each Reptile-Type monster in your Graveyard. When
this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, you can remove from
play 1 other Reptile-Type monster from your Graveyard to Special Summon this
card.]
This card’s effect “This card is unaffected
by "Venom Swamp".”
means that counters will not be placed on it by “Venom Swamp”.
Additionally, it will not lose ATK for Venom Counters placed on it by other
cards if “Venom Swamp” is in play.
Please note the spelling of this card’s
name. It is not a “Venom” monster.
Doom Shaman
TAEV-EN025 (Effect Monster)
[This card is treated as a Normal Monster
while face-up on the field or in the Graveyard. While this card is face-up on
the field, you can Normal Summon it to have it be treated as an Effect Monster
with this effect:
●Once per turn, you can Special
Summon 1 Fiend-Type monster from your hand or from either player's Graveyard.
When this card is removed from the field, destroy all Fiend-Type monsters
Special Summoned by this effect.]
This card’s effect to destroy all Fiend-Type
monsters Special Summoned by its effect when it leaves the field does not start
a Chain.
If you activate “Doom Shaman’s” effect, and
a card is chained that destroys “Doom Shaman”, the effect to Special Summon is
still resolved. The Special Summoned monster will not be destroyed by “Doom
Shaman’s” effect.
Phantom Cricket
TAEV-EN030 (Effect Monster)
[FLIP: Return 1 face-down monster from the
field to the top of its owner's Deck.]
This card’s effect targets 1 face-down
monster.
If the targeted monster is flipped face-up
by an effect chained to this card’s effect, it will not be returned to the top
of its owner’s Deck.
Crystal Seer
TAEV-EN031 (Effect Monster)
[FLIP: Pick up 2 cards from the top of your
Deck. Select 1 of those cards and add it to your hand, and put the other card
on the bottom of your Deck.]
If you have 1 or fewer cards in your Deck
when this card’s effect resolved, the effect disappears, and you cannot pick up
any cards from your Deck.
Frost and Flame Dragon
TAEV-EN033 (Effect Monster)
[This card cannot be Normal Summoned or
Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by removing from play 1 FIRE
and 2 WATER monsters from your Graveyard. Once per turn, you can discard 1 card
to destroy 1 monster on the field.]
This card’s effect to destroy 1 monster on
the field targets.
Desert Twister
TAEV-EN034 (Effect Monster)
[This card cannot be Normal Summoned or
Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by removing from play 1 EARTH
and 2 WIND monsters from your Graveyard. Once per turn, you can discard 1 card
to destroy 1 Spell or Trap Card on the field.]
This card’s effect to destroy 1 Spell or
Trap Card on the field targets.
Zombie Master
TAEV-EN039 (Effect Monster)
[Once per turn, you can send 1 Monster Card
from your hand to the Graveyard to Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower
Zombie-Type Monster from either player's Graveyard.]
This card’s effect targets 1 Level 4 or
lower Zombie-Type Monster when activated.
If you activate “Zombie Master’s” effect,
and an effect is chained that removes “Zombie Master” from the field or flips
it face-down, the effect disappears and you cannot Special Summon the targeted
monster.
You can Special Summon the monster sent to
the Graveyard as a cost to activate this effect.
Venom Swamp
TAEV-EN051 (Field Spell Card)
[Monsters lose 500 ATK for each Venom
Counter on them. Destroy a monster if its ATK becomes 0 by this effect. During
each player's End Phase, place 1 Venom Counter on each face-up monster, except
"Venom" monsters.]
This card’s effect to place a Venom Counter
on each face-up monster starts a Chain.
This card’s effect to destroy a monster
whose ATK is reduced to 0 does not start a Chain.
If a monster’s original ATK is 0, or its
ATK has been reduced to 0 by another card effect(s) and a Venom Counter is
placed on it, it will not be destroyed by “Venom Swamp”.
Snake Rain
TAEV-EN052 (Normal Spell Card)
[Discard 1 card. Select 4 Reptile-Type
monsters from your Deck and send them to the Graveyard.]
You cannot activate this card if there are
less than 4 Reptile-Type monsters in your Deck.
If the number of Reptile-Type monsters in
your Deck becomes less than 4 due to an effect chained to “Snake Rain”, you
cannot send any Reptile-Type monsters from your Deck to the Graveyard when
“Snake Rain” resolves.
Venom Shot
TAEV-EN053 (Normal Spell Card)
[Activate only while you control a face-up
"Venom" monster, "Vennominaga the Deity of Poisonous
Snakes", or "Vennominon the King of Poisonous Snakes". Send 1
Reptile-Type monster from your Deck to the Graveyard and place 2 Venom Counters
on 1 face-up monster your opponent controls.]
You cannot activate this card if there are
no Reptile-Type monsters in your Deck.
Double Summon
TAEV-EN056 (Normal Spell Card)
[You can Normal Summon 1 additional time
this turn. You can only gain this effect once per turn.]
You can activate this card before or after
you use your Normal Summon for the turn. The extra Summon granted by this
card’s effect can be used any time you could Normal Summon, and you are not
considered to be Summoning a monster with this card’s effect.
Summoner’s Art
TAEV-EN057 (Normal Spell Card)
[Add 1 Level 5 or higher Normal Monster
from your Deck to your hand.]
You cannot activate this card if you have
no Level 5 or higher Normal Monsters in your Deck.
Creature Seizure
TAEV-EN058 (Normal Spell Card)
[Each player gives their opponent control
of 1 of their monsters (controller's choice). You must choose a face-up Normal
Monster.]
If, due to an effect chained to “Creature
Seizure” you control no face-up Normal Monsters when it resolves, no monsters
switch control.
Symbols of Duty
TAEV-EN060 (Equip Spell Card)
[Send 1 Normal Monster you control to the
Graveyard. Select and Special Summon 1 monster from either Graveyard and equip
it with this card. When this card is removed from the field, destroy the
equipped monster.]
You can send a face-down Normal Monster to
the Graveyard to activate this card.
You can Special Summon the same monster you
sent to the Graveyard for this card’s cost with its effect.
Amulet of Ambition
TAEV-EN061 (Equip Spell Card)
[Equip only to a Normal
Monster. If it battles a monster with a higher Level, the equipped monster
gains 500 ATK x the difference in Levels (during that battle only). When this
card is sent to the Graveyard, you can return it to the top of the Deck.]
The increase in ATK is applied only during
Damage Calculation.
This card’s effect to return itself to the
top of the Deck starts a Chain.
Snake Whistle
TAEV-EN066 (Normal Trap)
[Activate only when a Reptile-Type monster
you control is destroyed. Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower Reptile-Type
monster from your Deck.]
This card can be activated when a
Reptile-Type monster you control is destroyed by battle or by a Spell, Trap, or
Monster effect.
You can only activate this card if the
Reptile-Type monster’s destruction is the last thing to occur in a chain. This is similar to the activation timing for
both “Dark Magician of Chaos” and “Peten the Dark Clown.”
Damage = Reptile
TAEV-EN067 (Continuous Trap)
[Once per turn, when you take Battle Damage
from a battle involving a Reptile-Type monster, you can Special Summon 1
Reptile-Type monster from your Deck with ATK less than or equal to the Battle
Damage you took.]
This card’s effect starts a Chain.
You cannot activate this card (flip it
face-up) during the Damage Step, but you can activate its effect.
Snake Deity’s Command
TAEV-EN068 (Counter Trap)
[Activate by showing your opponent 1
"Venom" monster in your hand. Negate the activation and effect of an
opponent's Spell Card, and destroy it.]
Showing 1 “Venom” monster in your hand is a
cost to activate this card.
Rise of the Snake Deity
TAEV-EN069 (Normal Trap Card)
[Activate only when a face-up
"Vennominon the King of Poisonous Snakes" you control is destroyed.
Special Summon 1 "Vennominaga the Deity of Poisonous Snakes" from
your hand or Deck.]
You cannot activate this card if you do not
have “Vennominaga the Deity of Poisonous Snakes” in your hand or Deck.
You can activate multiple copies of this
card in the same Chain when “Vennominon the King of Poisonous Snakes” is
destroyed.
